We use a 4'x 4' CNC laser to cut parts. My focus is developing parts for scratch builders, rather than a "full blown " kit.  So far we have worked in G scale (:22.5, 1:24) and also 1:32 but intend to slide into HO fairly soon.

Alder Models was well known for producing highly detailed prototypical building kits, operational and dummy switch stands, metal detail castings and scratch building materials.
